Default Which is Better???

Is there any sense in making a E/W hammer/earth build, where you mix some of each; or would it be better just to have a Earth Ele, where you can concentrate on Earth and energy, and use secondary for something resourceful, like healing. (I have Proph and Factions)

You could do ether, but not both...

<PuG>
on a side note you could always run a warrior with MS and stonefist for constant KD

I suppose you looked at Earth Shaker and Aftershock. It may look good, but it really isn't. You're an Elementalist in melee range is the reason why.

Stick with a normal Earth Magic build, but don't take healing. Go /Rt for Splinter Weapon, Ancestor's and hard res since they offer you strong utility, or /N for Enfeebling Blood, which synergises well with Stoning.

[unsteady ground][eruption][ward against melee][stoning][enfeebling blood][earth attunement][no skill][resurrection signet]

Just spec 6 or 8 for Enfeebling, it doesn't need much attribution to be effective and permanently maintainable.

The optional slot could be anything from enchantment removal to AoE KD's. The only problem is it costs 25 energy and causes exhaustion, but if you ask me the effect is quite nice. If you are a bit iffy on energy don't bother with Earthquake or Dragon's Stomp, and stick to less costly stuff.

Doesn't work. I've already tried it once before with earthbind . The way the timing works, the foe is standing up when the next meteor comes, and so can't be knocked down. Kinda makes sense, since you could use a knockdown-buff like stonefist or earthbind along with glyph of renewal + MS to keep a foe knocked down for 18 seconds straight.

I know you were joking, but I've seen enough hamstorm variants in RA to make me try and nip this in bud.

My gut feeling... Leave Earthshaker to the Warriors. The build you've got there looks like it has a lot of defense, but with the requirement to keep your defenses and health up, it looks like it'd take a while to build up adrenaline. Even with Whirlwind you need to get six strikes to get there in the first place.

Warriors, on the other hand, can rely more on their base armour for defense and load their bars with adrenaline engines to recharge Earthshaker that much faster. Such builds used to tend to use Aftershock, but nowadays Crude Swing is reasonably safe to use after Earthshaker and will help build up your adrenaline for the next Earthshaker, which Aftershock doesn't.

Thus... Earth + secondary gets my vote.

Use [Whirlwind], if you have to get in point blank range(or just wait for melee to charge your backlines) use a shadow step, pop [whirlwind] or [teinai's wind], pop [aftershock], then bug out. You can use whirlwind to maintain kinetic armor too if you have a +20% enchant weapon. If you're feeling ballsy you can hang out up front with [sliver armor] on or keep [obsidian flesh] up.

^try whirlwind on a Mo/E in RA sometime, it's freaking hilarious...

[air [email protected]][shell [email protected]][enervating [email protected]][stoneflesh [email protected]][ride the [email protected]][[email protected]][teinais [email protected]][deaths [email protected]]or[[email protected]]<<<<<Air magic 12+1+2 Earth magic 9+1 Energy storage 8+1 shadow arts 2

That build is fun. All there is to it is apply conditions, ride lightning, knockdown, knockdown, teleport out

you can sub [enervating charge] for [blinding flash] too but then you may need more energy management. so you may sub [stoneflesh aura] for [gole] which would let you dump the earth attrib points in to shadow or energy storage
